Kyoraku and Ukitake

On the other hand, there are epic amounts of filler. Most of the stories, one-on-one battles, and dialog are recycled from a thousand other Shonen Jump series. Worst of all, it sometimes moves even slower than Dragonball -- one set of fights lasted nearly one hundred episodes.

I'm currently stuck on episode 222. Doubtless I'll pick it up again someday but it's daunting to have to wade through dozens of one-on-one tournament-style fights, especially when you always know who's going to win.

That being said, I really like Kyoraku. His attitude is a lot like mine: never take anything too seriously, especially if other people insist you do.
